I was on my way to our Aquatic Plant Nursery this morning at 7:00 AM as I am accustomed to doing, and begun to wonder if the little tree frog I had found in the nursery over two months ago was still alive. No, he couldn't be I thought, as there were really no bugs, knats, in the nursery right now.
How could he survive two months without food?
I arrived and opened up the nursery to cool it off and then began feeding the fish populations we have in the nursery. In one aquarium the duckweed on the surface multiplies so rapidly that in order to feed the fish, I have to remove the duckweed from the surface. I picked up a net and began to remove the duckweed. As I set the net down on a table I became aware of something on my finger. Yep, you guessed it, it was the little tree frog. How he got on my finger I can only venture to guess. He sat there calmly looking at me. I carried him out of the nursery to show him to Jim, the guy we lease from. He was amazed, the little frog continued to sit on my finger. He had been set free over two months ago but now he drew near to the one who set him free. As I entered back into the nursery I noticed a few knats in an area, and so I began to lower him to that area to set him free again and he jumped into the water!
John 8: 31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." 33They answered him, "We are Abraham's descendants and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?" 34Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.)
So, the little white tree frog, (Isaiah 1: 18 "Come now, lets settle this,"says the Lord."Though your sins are like scarlet,I will make them as white as snow. Though they are red like crimson, I will make them as white as wool."
John 4:7 When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?" 8(His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) 9The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?" (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans. 10Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water." 11"Sir," the woman said, "you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his flocks and herds?" 13Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life." 15The woman said to him, "Sir, give me this water so that I won't get thirsty and have to keep coming here to draw water."
Won't you call out to JESUS to set you free? And when he sets you free, you will draw near to him, JESUS, who set you free. And the LORD will be your provider and sustainer! And you will seek the water that leads to everlasting life, and never be thirsty again! And then rivers of living water will flow out from you!
